Learning outcomes
PLO 6. To use knowledge on expressive, emotive, logical language means and speech techniques in order to achieve an intended pragmatic result and organize successful communication. PLO 8. To evaluate historical achievements and the latest achievements of literary studies. PLO 10. To collect and systematize facts of language and literature, to interpret and translate texts of various styles and genres (depending on the chosen specialization). PLO 11. Carry out a scientific analysis of language, speech and literary material, interpret and structure it taking into account appropriate methodological principles, formulate generalizations based on independently processed data.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Prior to taking this course, students should know the basic conceptual apparatus of modern linguistic poetics and literary theories and the peculiarities of their application in various social practices of Spanish linguistic culture; the main problems of modern studies of poetics in domestic and foreign philological paradigms, the main translation studies concepts in diachronic and synchronic aspects in foreign and domestic traditions, the main problems of modern translation studies in the aspect of literary translation.
Course content
The aim is to consolidate the acquired theoretical knowledge of introduction to translation studies, lexicology, stylistics, text linguistics, neorhetoric, translation theory and practice, translation studies and to supplement it with the basic theoretical foundations of poetics and literary translation theory and practice. The subject of the course is poetics as a sphere of functioning of the regularities of artistic discourse in Spanish and translation in synchrony and diachrony. The discipline is aimed at understanding the patterns of development of modern linguistic poetics and literary translation; gives an idea of the paradigm of modern linguistic poetry studies and trends in literary translation in synchronic and diachronic sections, reveals the peculiarities of the development of artistic conceptualisation; forms skills in analysing linguistic poetic features of literary discourse and producing literary translation.

Assessment methods and criteria
The course consists of 2 content parts. The first part of the course is devoted to the main linguistic and poetic features of literary semiosis. The second part of the course focuses on their practical application in the field of literary translation. Classes are held in the form of lectures and practical exercises with the use of interactive teaching methods. During the semester, lectures on relevant topics are followed by practical classes, where students are assessed according to the type of work and form. Students submit and defend their presentations at the end of the last lecture week. The course ends with a test. Students who score less than the critical-calculated minimum of 46 points are not allowed to take the test.
