Prerequisites and co-requisites
In order to successfully acquire knowledge in the discipline "Geosystem Studies", students must:
have basic knowledge of geography, be able to analyze cause-and-effect relationships between natural processes and phenomena;
to have the skills of searching and systematizing scientific documents and primary processing of geographical information; elementary skills of analysis and synthesis of geographical information, comparative geographical analysis.
Course content
The discipline "Geosystem studies" includes an overview of the main properties of geosystems and general laws of the structure, composition and dynamics of the geographic envelope as a geosystem at the global level. The object of study is the geographic shell of the Earth - a complex shell in which there is a deep interpenetration and active interaction of the substance of the atmosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere, pedosphere, and biosphere. The subject of the educational discipline is the natural processes through which the natural geospheres that form the geographical shell interact; the main patterns of territorial and vertical
differentiation of the geographical envelope. During the study of the discipline "Geosystem studies", attention is also paid to the formation of skills and abilities to plan and carry out research and report on their results, the ability to comprehensively solve tasks in the field of tourism and recreation both in the process of education and in the process of professional activity.

Assessment methods and criteria
The level of achievement of all planned learning outcomes in the discipline "Geosystem Studies" is determined by organizing current, thematic (by thematic parts of the discipline) and final control in the form of a credit.
Forms of current, thematic and final control:
- practical works (RN 2.1-2.4 – skills; 3.1, 3.2 – communication; 4.1-4.3 – autonomy and
responsibility) – max 20 points / min 10;
- control work (RN 1.1-1.4 – knowledge; 2.5 – skills; 4.2, 4.3 – autonomy and
responsibility) – max 10 points / min 5;
- independent work and its presentation (RN 3.1-3.2; 4.2; 4.4-4.6 – communication, autonomy and
responsibility) – max 50 points / min 28;
- credit testing (RN 1.1-1.4 – knowledge; 4.5 – autonomy and responsibility) – max 20
points
