Learning outcomes
LO04. To use information technologies, cartographic and geo-information models in the branches of the subject area of ​​geographical sciences. LO07. Apply models, methods and data of natural and social sciences, information technologies, etc. when studying the formation and development of objects and processes of the geographical envelope. LO11. Organize and summarize the materials of field and laboratory studies, integrate them from observation to recognition, synthesis and modeling. LO14. Demonstrate the ability to conduct independent research of natural and socio-geographical objects, systems and processes in the geographic envelope under field and laboratory conditions.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) successful mastering of such general education disciplines as "Geology", "Geomorphology", "Natural tourist attractions of the World", "Stone in architecture and art", "Lithological and petrographic basis of relief", "Economic and social geography of the World"; 2) have basic skills of macroscopic determination of rocks and minerals.
Course content
The content of the discipline reveals theoretical and applied issues of the geography of mineral resources. Two parts are distinguished in the structure of the discipline. The first part is devoted to the study of theoretical issues of the geography of mineral resources and the origin of minerals. The second part of the course is aimed at studying the classification, geological and economic characteristics and geographical distribution and location of metallic, non-metallic and fuel mineral resources on the territory of Ukraine and in the world, respectively.

Assessment methods and criteria
Interview in oral form; performance of practical and independent work, MKR, assessment. The recommended minimum for admission is 34 points. For students who scored less than 34 points (recommended minimum), writing essays on missed or insufficiently mastered topics is a mandatory condition for admission to the credit. The final evaluation in the form of credit is conducted in writing. The maximum number of points on the test is 40 points, the minimum number of points added to semester points is 26 points.
