Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of the disciplines "Topography with the basics of geodesy", "Cartography". 2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of measurement sciences and mathematical processing of measurements: classification of measurements and measuring devices. 3. Possession of elementary skills of mathematical analysis.
Course content
The course of the academic discipline is designed to study basic theoretical information on metrology and standardization; an analysis of errors of physical quantities, classification of measuring equipment and standards for measurement, information on state and international standardization and certification, as well as a basic list of standards of terms and definitions operating in the cartographic and topographic-geodetic field are provided. The discipline consists of two content modules. The first is devoted to familiarization with the basic concepts in metrology and the structure of metrological organizations. Basic information about physical quantities and their units, principles and methods of measurement, measurement errors of physical quantities, measuring equipment and their errors, standards of physical quantities are presented. The second module reveals the peculiarities of the implementation of the state system of standardization and standardization in the cartographic field, as well as the basics of certification.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
lecture, seminar class, independent work, discussion, answers in seminar classes, discussion, performance of independent work, modular control work, assessment
Assessment methods and criteria
Forms and organization of assessment: - current (semester) evaluation (seminars (minimum grade 24, maximum 40; control papers (6-10); independent work (5-10)); – final (final) assessment in the form of credit (assessment for theory knowledge (minimum 12, maximum 20 points); assessment for the practical part (13-20). For students who scored a total of less points than the critical calculation minimum - 35 points, it is necessary to pass an additionally completed individual complex task for admission to the final control form. The scale of transferring the rating to the traditional assessment. Evaluation according to the 100-point system 60 – 100 are enrolled 0 - 59 are not counted
