Learning outcomes
Mastery of basic knowledge of the scientific foundations of computer graphics and cartographic design, formation of practical skills in the development of cartographic signs for laying out maps.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
To be able to use the graphic editor Adobe Illustrator CS6 at the initial level. Possess basic skills in drawing out cartographic marks for various types of geographic maps using both traditional means and computer technologies.
Course content
The program of the academic discipline consists of the following content modules: 1. Theoretical and methodological foundations of graphic presentation of information; 2. Fundamentals of color science and computer color reproduction; 3. Designing the general design of cartographic works.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The level of achievement of all planned learning outcomes is determined by the results of the survey, writing modular control papers (MCR) and performing practical works The specific weight of learning outcomes in the final assessment, provided they are mastered at the appropriate level, is as follows: learning outcomes – 1 (knowledge) – up to 45%; learning outcomes - 2 (skills) - up to 45%; learning outcomes – 3 (communication) - up to 5%; learning outcomes - 4 (autonomy and responsibility) - up to 5%
Assessment methods and criteria
Forms and organization of assessment: - current (semester) evaluation (laboratory work (minimum grade 3, maximum 10; control work (6-10); independent work (5-10)); - final (final) assessment in the form of credit (assessment for theory knowledge (minimum 12, maximum 40 points). For students who scored a total of less points than the critical calculation minimum - 35 points, for admission to the final control form, it is necessary to pass an additionally completed individual complex task.
