Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of the courses "Ecology", "River flow and hydrological calculations", "Fundamentals of hydrochemistry", "Hydrology of rivers", "Hydrology of lakes". Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of general ecology, river hydrology, river flow and hydrological calculations.
Course content
The study discipline "Hydroecology" covers the study of concepts, terminology, principles, methods, methodical approaches and theory of modern hydroecology. In the course of studying the discipline, examples are given and the importance and practical application of the main hydroecological laws and principles for optimizing the state of hydroecosystems and rational nature management are demonstrated. Attention is focused on the inextricable relationship between the state of the environment and the health of the population. integration is based on the students' study of hydrobiology, hydrochemistry, and mathematics, and is integrated with these disciplines, since a feature of this course is the manifestation of physical, chemical, biological, and other processes within the framework of their mutual influence and interdependence in the functioning of ecosystems; lays the foundations for students' study of ecosystem processes, organization of the environmental protection system; promotes students' study of natural sciences and current legislation; involves the formation of skills to apply knowledge of ecology in the process of further education and in professional activities.

Assessment methods and criteria
During the semester, after the completion of the relevant topics, thematic written control papers with open questions are conducted. Mandatory for credit is the writing of test papers for content modules, participation in seminars, and preparation of a presentation. For students who scored a total of less points than the critical calculation minimum - 36 points, writing essays on insufficiently mastered topics is a mandatory condition for admission to the credit. The maximum number of points for credit is 40 points, the minimum number of points added to semester credits is 24 points (60% of the maximum number of points allocated for credit). Students who, during the semester, scored a total of less points than the critical calculation minimum - 20 points are not allowed to pass the test. The recommended minimum for admission to the test is 36 points.
