PR10. To design and organize activities for the cultivation of planting material of decorative grass and flower plants in open and closed soil and to form objects of horticulture in accordance with modern scientific methods and customer requirements. PR12. Plan time effectively to obtain the necessary results in production. PR16. On the basis of in-depth knowledge of the natural sciences, form an idea about the preservation of biological diversity to increase the productivity, increase the stability and ecological plasticity of artificial phytocenoses and natural ecosystems in modern urban landscapes under global climate change.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know - meadow and lawn herbaceous plants, their biological and ecological features, fodder value. Types of grasslands and their significance for greening and agricultural production of Ukraine. Classification and agrobiological characteristics of lawn grasses, as well as norms and deadlines for applying the main types of organic and mineral fertilizers. 2. Be able to distinguish types of meadow and lawn grasses by various characteristics, to make grass mixtures and to calculate sowing rates. Determine the nutrient requirements of lawn and meadow grasses. Determine the timing and height of mowing meadow and lawn grasses. 3. To possess the elementary skills of creating a highly decorative lawn covering of various functional purposes, resistant to adverse abiotic and biotic factors of the external environment, selection of an assortment of lawn grasses, analysis quality of seeds, selection of agrochemicals for protection of lawn grass stands.
Course content
The discipline "Meadow growing" is a discipline of free choice of the student, which includes mastering the theoretical and practical foundations of rational use of natural and artificial meadows and the creation and maintenance of lawns based on modern achievements of domestic and world science, the formation of practical skills for planting , norms of sowing seeds, care and repair of lawns.
