Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of the course requires knowledge of the theoretical foundations of the history of civilizations and cultures, the foundations of cultural analysis, initial mastery of analytical and comparative skills, which they acquired during their studies in secondary schools educational institutions of I-III degrees. 2. Possess elementary skills of scientific research and information management; critical attitude and forecasting cultural events and phenomena. Be able to process and analyze cultural, philosophical and historical texts, work with specialized literature and primary sources. 3. Нave the initial skills of project activity.
Course content
The subject of the discipline is the theory and functions of culture, the history of the development of cultural systems and civilizational and cultural formations in the world and domestic context; value-semantic and symbolic-communicative mechanisms that regulate the cultural practice of interaction of people in the community at each specific historical stage. The study of the discipline leads to the formation of conceptual knowledge of cultural studies in the aspect of description, interpretation, analysis of culture; modern cultural-philosophical thought, historical-philosophical methods in the study of cultural phenomena, intellectual and artistic tradition are studied; the main forms of modern artistic and aesthetic and other socio-cultural practices. The logic of scientific knowledge qualifies culture as the starting point and result of the development of humanity, the discipline "Ukrainian and foreign culture" is the basis of the study and development of humanitarianism in general, or the only opportunity to build life at the expense of past generations. It is this discipline that is fundamental in the formation of general cultural competences, national consciousness and dignity of students, critical and creative thinking.

Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the learned material, in particular, the assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge 1.1 - 1.10), which is 40% of the total assessment and assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skill 2.1-2.6); (communication 3.1-3.4); (autonomy and responsibility 4.1-4.3), which is 60% of the total score.
