Learning outcomes
PO22. Be able to take into account social, environmental, ethical, economic aspects, occupational health and safety requirements, industrial sanitation and fire safety when formulating technical solutions. Be able to use different types and forms of physical activity for active recreation and healthy lifestyle. PO23. To be able to use in production and social activities the fundamental concepts and categories of state-building to justify their own worldview positions and political beliefs, taking into account the processes of social and political history of Ukraine, legal principles and ethical norms.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of a full course of secondary education. 2. Minimum sufficient B1 level of English according to CEFR, namely: the ability to understand the main content of clear normative speech on topics that often arise at work, in school, in everyday life, etc.; the ability to speak simply and coherently on general topics or topics of personal interest; the ability to describe life experience, current events, plans for the future, etc. 3. Be able to make independent decisions, participate in debates and competently justify their point of view. 4. Possess the skills of independent search for information and its generalization.
Course content
Discipline is a compulsory discipline designed to develop the ability to communicate in a foreign language and apply knowledge in practical situations. Realization of the purpose of discipline "Foreign language (English)" is result of complex interaction of four components: 1) English communicative competence provides development of skills and abilities in the basic kinds of speech activity covering reception, production, interaction and mediation both in written, and in oral forms; 2) socio-cultural competence refers to the ability to apply a set of sociolinguistic, regional and intercultural knowledge to achieve understanding between representatives of different societies; 3) pragmatic competence is related to the functional use of linguistic means; 4) professionally oriented communicative competence is the ability to use students' professional skills and knowledge to solve general professional problems in English.
