Learning outcomes
PR 07. Be able to apply knowledge of the composition and structure of cells of different biological agents to determine the optimal conditions for cultivation and the potential use of the studied cells in biotechnology. PR 10. Be able to conduct experimental research to determine the impact of physicochemical and biological factors of the environment on the viability of cells of living organisms. PR 11. Be able to conduct basic genetic and cytological research to improve and enhance the biosynthetic capacity of biological agents, taking into account the principles of biosafety, biosecurity and bioethics (induced mutagenesis using physical and chemical mutagenic factors, selection and accumulation of auxotrophic mutants, etc.).
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Complete course of secondary education, especially in biological disciplines. 2. Knowledge of the structure and functions of cells and tissues within the school curriculum. 3. Possession of basic skills in working with educational literature.
Course content
The discipline "Cell Biology" is part of the training of specialists of the educational level "Bachelor" in the educational program "Biotechnology". The discipline is a fundamental biological discipline that considers the cellular level of organization of living systems. The basic methods of cell research, the main structural components of the cell, the main metabolic processes and their topography are studied, the basic principles of structural and functional analysis of the state of cellular structures are determined. An idea of the basic laws of evolution of the cellular level of life organization is given.
