Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of the courses "General cytology", "Biochemistry", "Molecular biology", "General genetics", "Biophysics" 2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics and biophysics 3. Ability to independently apply knowledge of molecular biology and other disciplines, use a computer and databases, work with scientific literature.
Course content
The course is devoted to the basic principles of structural organization of chromatin (chromosomes) in the interphase nucleus of eukaryotic cells, as well as molecular mechanisms of regulation of functional processes in the nucleus at the level of structural rearrangements of chromatin. The structure and conformational mobility of the nucleosome, supranucleosomal levels of chromatin organization, mechanisms of epigenetic heredity, molecular mechanisms of regulation of DNA transcription and replication and structural changes of chromatin underlying such regulation, as well as principles of modern methods of chromatin structure study are considered.
