Learning outcomes
PR03. Plan, execute, analyze data and present experimental results research in the field of biology. PR08. Know and understand basic terms, concepts, theories and laws in the field of biological sciences and on the border subject areas. PR09. To comply with the provisions of biological ethics, rules of biological safety and biological protection in learning process and professional activity. PR12. Demonstrate knowledge of structure and processes vital activities and functions of living organisms, to understand mechanisms of regulation of physiological functions for maintenance of homeostasis of biological systems. PR14. Analyze the interactions of different living organisms levels of phylogenetic relatedness to each other, peculiarities of influence of various factors on living organisms and evaluate their role in biosphere processes transformation of substances and energy.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successfully master the courses "Botany", "Plant Physiology", "Plant Biochemistry", "Plant growth and development", "Microbiology", "General genetics". 2. Be able to independently apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology of plants, botany, microbiology, biochemistry and other academic disciplines for specific solutions scientific-practical problems, work with scientific and scientific-methodological ones literature 3. Have basic system analysis skills.
Course content
The discipline "Root nutrition of plants" is a selective discipline, which forms a comprehensive view of: the structure and function of the root system of plants as an organ of absorption and metabolism; mechanisms of absorption and transportation of mineral elements, metabolism and physiological and biochemical significance of the most important macro- and microelements; ecological significance of root secretions, diagnostics of plant nutrition, physiological bases of fertilizer use.
