Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of the courses "General Genetics", "Molecular Biology", "Biochemistry", "General Cytology", as well as familiarization with selected sections of the biology of individual development, modern information technologies in biology. 2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of chemistry, physics, molecular biology, cell biology, etc.; the ability to use theoretical knowledge from these disciplines to solve practical problems. 3. Possession of elementary skills of working with scientific electronic databases, scientific literature and ability to system analysis.
Course content
"Genetic analysis" covers the study of the fundamental principles of genetic analysis methods and the peculiarities of their application in the study of both individual organisms and populations of various species. In the course of studying the discipline, the practical application and significance of individual methods in genetic analysis are given or demonstrated. Technologies for editing the human genome and methods used in gene therapy are considered.
