- Methods of classification of models of the geological environment; - Mastering the theory and algorithms of various methods of mathematical modeling of geophysical parameters of the environment; - Practical skills of creating models in various applied geophysical applications; - Conduct independent analysis of the results of mathematical modeling of geophysical parameters
Form of study
Distance form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of mathematical courses with the basics of differential and integral calculus. 2. Have basic skills in working with a personal computer.
Course content
The course provides students with the concept of the main types of models of the geological environment, their hierarchical nature, allows you to master the basic methods of averaging and stochastic equations. Students learn critical thinking in the analysis of modeling algorithms, understanding the possibilities and limitations of modeling geophysical parameters. During the course the application of modern modeling algorithms in various applied problems of geophysics is considered.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, laboratory classes and independent work of students
Assessment methods and criteria
Control is carried out according to the modular rating system and includes: laboratory work (where students must demonstrate acquired practical skills and solve problems using the methods and tools outlined by the teacher), and conducting 2 written tests. The final assessment is conducted in the form of an oral written test.
