Learning outcomes
- Use information technology, cartographic and geoinformation models in the field of Earth sciences. - Apply models, methods and data of physics, chemistry, biology, ecology, mathematics, information technology, etc. in the study of geological processes and structures. - Be able to communicate the results of geological research to a professional audience and the general public, make presentations, prepare reports and scientific publications.
Form of study
Distance form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Ability to analyze spatial models, have information technology and specialized software, navigate cartographic materials on various topics, namely: scaling; determination of coordinates on the ground; linking maps, creating topographic projections and elementary spatial models; identify and distinguish relief forms by characteristic features of the surface; to build block diagrams and sections of the Earth's surface.
Course content
There is an acquaintance with remote sensing materials, which are effective and promising in the study of geological, geological, hydrological, soil and landscape objects. Aimed at solving urgent problems of meteorology; hydrogeology; subsoil use; condition of technical facilities; areas with active oil and gas infrastructure; digital maps; territorial planning; geological exploration; prevention of emergencies, etc. Allows you to quickly assess the dynamics of changes occurring in a particular area and quickly assess these changes, update GIS databases and more. Study of the earth's surface and subsoil, forecasting natural resources, study of the state and changes in the environment under the influence of technogenesis, organization of operational monitoring, etc.
