Learning outcomes
LO09. Build efficient algorithms regarding the accuracy of calculations, stability, speed, and cost of system resources for numerical study of mathematical models and solutions to practical problems. LO17. Be able to collect, process, analyze, and systematize scientific and technical information, while avoiding academic dishonesty. PLO22.2. Know about the mathematical modeling and optimal management fundamentals, to the extent necessary for the development of applied disciplines, and use the relevant knowledge in the chosen profession.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
To complete the coursework, students must meet the following requirements: To know: approaches to mathematical modeling and mathematical methods for solving different types of problems in the first five semesters; algebra, mathematical analysis, basics of numerical methods, differential equations, programming, control theory, etc. Be able to: analyze and prove mathematical statements; design and develop programs in at least one modern programming language, apply mathematical methods to solve specific problems. To possess basic skills in: working with scientific sources and information retrieval; presenting one's own opinion orally and in writing; communicating with colleagues and teachers on research topics.
Course content
The main objectives of the course work are the acquisition of knowledge, skills, and abilities (competencies) at the level of the latest achievements in systems modeling and optimization, providing competencies according to the Bachelor of Applied Mathematics educational qualification. In the process of preparing the course work, students systematize, consolidate, and expand theoretical and practical knowledge. А requirement to systematically update their knowledge, as well as apply it in solving specific professional problems is education. Independent research work basic skills are developed.

Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment during the semester. The coursework defense. Maximum/minimum number of points that can be obtained by a student: 100/60 points, of which: The topic of work relevance substantiation: 10/6 points. Scientific literature processing and use: 15/9 points. The research methodology validity: 10/6 points. The quality of the results obtained and their relevance to the research topic: 20/12 points. Conclusions correspondence to research tasks: 10/6 points. Structure and presentation of material clarity: 10/6 points. Literacy rates: 5/3 points. Work design quality: 5/3 points. Systematic performance of work: 15/9 points. Final assessment (in the form of differentiated test): Credit points are defined as the sum of grades/points for all learning outcomes successfully assessed, provided by this program. Points below the minimum threshold value are not added. The minimum threshold for the all components total assessment is 60% of the maximum points possible.
