Learning outcomes
PRN2. Confident knowledge of state and foreign (Croatian) languages for implementation written and oral communication, in particular in professional and scientific situations communication; present research results in state and foreign languages. PRN3. Apply modern techniques and technologies, including information, for success and effective implementation of professional activities and ensuring the quality of scientific research in the field of Slavic studies. Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know: the main stages of the history of the Croatian language, trends and current challenges Croatian studies as a linguistic branch, the problems of the works of prominent philologists- Croatians, the basics of functional stylistics in the light of modern Croatian norms literary language. 2. Be able to: perform stylistic analysis (according to different types of stylistic theories); to navigate in the means of styling, to determine the functional affiliation specific units of Croatian text.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline - to study the theoretical foundations and communicative capabilities of modern Croatian literary language, issues of its codification and standardization, current issues, related to the functioning of language in society; professional competencies of the future Slavists, able to solve complex specialized problems, implementation analytical research and development of language policy strategies. Discipline belongs to research component aimed at mastering the culture of language and speech, deepening of knowledge of general and practical stylistics, formation of skills.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures and practical classes, management of independent work and control over it performance, individual consultations, exam.
Assessment methods and criteria
After lectures on relevant topics, practical classes are held assessment according to the planned types of work and forms of control: oral report / presentation / compilation of bibliography on the topic (max. 6b.), abstract / written analytical work (max. 10b.), modular control work (max. 5b.), additions, participation in discussion (max. 4b.). During the semester written works are checked, individual works are carried out consultation, the level of assimilation of the material made on independent is estimated processing. The final assessment is conducted in the form of a comprehensive exam. Students who scored a total of two points in total less than the critical the estimated minimum is 37 points, they are not allowed to take the exam.
