Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know the material of courses in professional disciplines.
2. To be able to apply previous knowledge of professional disciplines for theoretical research and calculation of experimental research results.
Course content
The subject of educational and industrial practice is familiarization with the future specifics and topics of the future master's work and obtaining preliminary results of theoretical and experimental research at specific workplaces (at the department, faculty, in research institutes, industrial enterprises, universities). The purpose of the internship is to get acquainted with specific methods of theoretical and experimental research that are available at the department, leading scientific institutions, laboratories, and industrial enterprises and that will be used in the completion of the thesis. Mastering some approaches, techniques, methods of conducting scientific research, acquiring skills in working with specific methods of research, processing and interpretation of empirical data. The identified goal is specified in the following tasks: formation of master's knowledge about the principles of research of a specific physical phenomenon, master's familiarization and acquisition of practical skills of a specific research method, consolidation of master's knowledge about methods of quantitative processing and meaningful analysis of research results, formation of master's skills in formulating conclusions and practical recommendations based on research results, acquiring skills in working with specific physical equipment and apparatus. The acquired knowledge and skills are necessary for the performance of master's qualification works and in further scientific research with the help of methods mastered in practice. The further performance of the master's thesis, the choice of the place of its execution and the evaluation of professional activity depend on the quality of the internship, the results obtained during their implementation.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Independent work - 90 hours.
Assessment methods and criteria
At the end of the internship, each student submits a completed diary (Appendix A) and a printed or handwritten report taking into account state standards to the department. It should briefly and specifically describe the work personally performed by the student. The report is checked and approved by the practice managers. At the end of the internship, students defend the report in the presence of the commission appointed by the head of the department. The commission includes practice leaders from the educational institution and, if possible, from practice bases, teachers of the department who taught special disciplines to interns.
The assessment is formed:
1. Work with scientific literature in the field of medical physics. (10 points).
2. Conducting scientific research (60 points).
3. Drawing up a diary and a report on scientific and industrial practice in medical physics (10 points).
The final assessment is carried out in the form of a differentiated assessment (20 points).
