Learning outcomes
1. Know, understand and be able to apply the basic principles of general and theoretical physics, in particular, classical, relativistic, and quantum mechanics, molecular physics and thermodynamics, electromagnetism, wave and quantum optics, atomic and nuclear physics to establish, analyze, interpret, explain and classify mechanisms of various physical phenomena and processes for solving complex specialized problems and practical problems in physics and astronomy. 2. Know and understand the experimental foundations of physics: analyze, describe, interpret and explain the basic experimental evidence of existing physical theories.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
• Know the basic principles of statistical physics and electrodynamics; • Be able to solve linear ordinary and partial differential equations, calculate the moments of the distribution function, solve systems of algebraic equations. • Possess the basic methods of mathematical analysis and mathematical physics in the courses taught to students of the Faculty of Physics.
Course content
The discipline “Plasma Electrodynamics” is part of the specialized selective block “Quantum Field Theory” and includes acquaintance with various methods of theoretical description of plasma, primarily kinetic description using the transition probability formalism; study of waves in isotropic and magnetoactive plasma in both collisional and collisionless plasma

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, practical classes, independent study of students
Assessment methods and criteria
Final assessment in the form of a test: The test is conducted in written and oral form. The ticket contains one theoretical question from part 2 which must be answered in writing and then explained orally. On the test, the student can get a maximum of 20 points. Conditions for admission to the test: to score at least 50 points for the semester assessment.
