2. To analyze, comment and summarize scientific and analytical texts of culturological format. 4. To know and understand theoretical approaches to definition of culture, its manifestations and forms of existence. 5. To collect, organize and analyze information on cultural phenomena, events, historical and cultural processes. 6. To identify, verify and summarize information on various contexts of cultural practice, to determine the degree of their relevance using different sources, information, communication tools and visual technologies. 8. To interpret cultural sources (material, printed, visual, artistic) using special literature and certain methods, tо reasonably present conclusions regarding their content.

Full-time form

1. Students must know (according to the level of 1st year students) the history of early civilizations, antiquity and the Middle Ages, know the basics of material culture of early civilizations, the main ancient texts. 2. Students must be able to process and analyze mythological, culturological and historical texts, compare different cultural and civilizational types of development, mythological and historical texts 3. Students must have basic skills of scientific research and information management, critical attitude to historical, cultural and mythological texts, events and phenomena, the use of foreign language professional sources.

Part 1. Theory of mythology. Myth and mythology: definition of the categorical apparatus. Phenomenology and dialectics of myth. Mythological anthropomorphism in the interpretation of the universe. Myth as a communicative system. Functions of myth. Part 2 History of mythology. Mythology as a historically first type of social consciousness Mythological consciousness of the era of the most ancient civilizations (Egypt, Mesopotamia, India, China, Asia Minor and Front Asia, pre-Columbian America). General characteristics. The Greco-Roman world: the totality of the myth. Reconstructions of Scandinavian, Germanic and Celtic mythological systems. Ancient Slavic mythology. "Secondary" mythological systems: Christian and Muslim mythologies. Part 3 Practice of mythology. Mythopoetic model of the world. Archaic ritual. Concept of archetype. Myth as meta-artistic thinking: the nature of visual arts and literature through the lens of myth. Mythologizing as a tool of modern culture. Socio-mythological constructions in the practice of modern life. Historical and sociopolitical mythmaking.

Control work - 9\15 points The semester number of points during the academic period is formed by the points received a student in the process of learning material from all parts of the academic discipline. General the semester grade consists of points obtained for classroom work, taking into account the coefficient of 0.6. All types of work during the academic period have as a result: in the maximum dimension 100 points x 0.6 = 60 points in the minimum measure 60 points x0.6 = 36 points Final evaluation in the form of an exam: Written exam - 24 / 40 points Examination evaluation takes place in written form. The ticket consists of 2 questions, each of which is evaluated on a scale of 20 points, which gives a total of 40 points for the exam
