            Prerequisites and co-requisites
        
        
            Before starting this course, students must:
1. to know the main stages, regularities and characteristics of the historical and cultural process;
2. be able to navigate the issues of organization of the educational process in the higher education system, collect and interpret information on cultural phenomena and phenomena, cultural processes and events;
3. to have elementary skills of scientific research and information management, skills of active listening, use of foreign language professional informative sources.
        
    
            Course content
        
        
            The discipline "Introduction to university studies" introduces students to the specifics of formation, main tasks and principles
organization of the university, key concepts of the classical university. Laws of Ukraine regulating the sphere of education and educational activities in the field of higher education of Ukraine are being considered consistently. The history of the integration of Ukrainian education into the European educational space and the key provisions of the Bologna Declaration are outlined. Ethical standards and the importance of academic integrity in the educational process are explained. The peculiarities of the functioning of universities in Ukraine and the structure of the educational process in higher education institutions are determined; the main milestones of the origin and formation of the higher education system in the history of world civilization, the main concepts and classification of higher educational institutions are considered; the role and influence of Ukrainian educational institutions on the formation of traditions of higher education; the main stages of formation, development and activity of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University in general and the Faculty of Philosophy in particular are traced

The final number of points for the discipline (maximum 100 points) is defined as the sum of points for systematic work during the semester, taking into account the final test.
