1. Understand the subject area, ethical and legal principles of professional activity. 8. Be able to use the basic categorical, conceptual and analytical research apparatus of modern political science. 14. Apply theories and methods of applied political science, political communications, special political science disciplines in professional activities.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know the theory of politics, political power and political systems, their structure, objects and subjects, patterns of functioning, basic ideas and concepts of elitism and modern democratic elitism, the basics of modern sociology and social psychology. 2. Вe able to navigate the systems and mechanisms of political elites, political leadership, social and political organization and self-organization based on knowledge of politics, political power, the political system of society, the laws of their functioning and development. 3. Possess the necessary skills of scientific research and principles of operation, knowledge, available information, critical thinking about the various models of elite democracy existing in modern elitology.
Course content
Elites as an Object of Scientific Research. History of elitology. The concept of structure and functions of the elite. Patterns of development and typology of elites. Mechanisms and technologies of elite formation. Elitism and democracy. Elites and leadership. Types and forms of political leadership. Mechanisms of formation and functioning of political leadership. The problem of political elites and leadership in Ukraine.

Assessment methods and criteria
The control of knowledge is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, in particular, the assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge 1.1 - 1.6), which accounts for 40% of the total grade, and assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills 2.1-2.2); (communication - 3.1-3.3); (autonomy and responsibility 4.1-4.3), which accounts for 60% of the total grade.
