Learning outcomes
Understand the subject area, ethical and legal principles of professional activity. Be able to use the basic categorical, conceptual, analytical and research apparatus of modern political science. To be able to apply political science thinking to solve theoretical and practical problems in the political sphere on the basis of mastering. Apply the tools of normative and empirical political theory, political methodology, comparative and applied political science, international and global studies in professional activities.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
To know the conceptual and categorical apparatus of political science, the main institutions of state and law, the laws of legal regulation and functioning of relations between the individual, society and the state, which are formed on the basis of and in connection with the exercise of state power. Be able to apply the conceptual and categorical apparatus of political science theory of the state, knowledge of the laws of legal regulation and functioning of social relations. Possess basic skills of scientific research and information management; critical attitude and forecasting of state and legal phenomena; use of foreign language professional political and legal information sources.
Course content
Subject of political science theory of the state, functions of the science of state and law theory. The origin of the state. The concept, essence, social purpose and types of the state. Forms of the state: forms of state government, state structure, political and state regimes. State apparatus and mechanism of the state. concepts of law and their essence. Norms of law in the system of social norms. The state as a subject of lawmaking. The system of law and the system of state legislation. Concept, types and structure of legal relations in the state. concepts of law and their essence. Norms of law in the system of social norms. The state as a subject of lawmaking. Assessment methods and criteria
The control of knowledge is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, in particular, the assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge 1.1 - 1.6), which is 40% of the total grade and the assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills 2.1-2.3); (communication -3.1-3.3); (autonomy and responsibility 4.1-4.3), which is 60% of the total grade.
