Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) know the theoretical differential criteria for distinguishing different types of media communication; techniques and methods of traditional linguistic analysis of language units;
2) be able to analyze a media text with attention to extra- and intralingual factors of media style formation;
3) have elementary skills of scientific research and information management using the latest scientific paradigms; an analytical attitude to the influential potential of units of all levels of the Ukrainian language system; working with multimedia texts and electronic sources.
Course content
The students' knowledge about the influence of mass media in the aspect of information security requirements is systematized, the legal basis of safe information activity in various communicative spheres is considered, and the strategic parameters of media influence are analyzed. The discipline summarizes the knowledge of previous courses and creates a basis for studying further courses in media linguistics.

Assessment methods and criteria
The credit is based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester and does not include additional assessment measures. The students who scored a total of less than 60 points during the semester must prepare material in the form of writing control works, essays, or, if necessary, write a final test.
