Learning outcomes
PLO 2. Confidently use state and foreign languages for the implementation of written and oral communication, in particular in situations of professional and scientific communication; present research results in national and foreign languages. PLO 9. Characterize the theoretical foundations (concepts, categories, principles, basic concepts, etc.) and applied aspects of chosen philological specialization PLO 11. Carry out a scientific analysis of language, speech and literary material, interpret and structure it taking into account appropriate methodological principles, formulate generalizations based on independently processed data. PLO 15. Choose optimal research approaches and methods for the analysis of specific linguistic or literary material PLO 25.2 Knowledge of basic concepts, categories, theories of modern political linguistics, business linguistics and media speechwriting

Prerequisites and co-requisites
2.1. Know scientific basis of the mwdia texts` classification, main functions of language, stylistic functions of languae units, concept of genre in linguistics and literature theory. 2.2. Be able analytically to work with scientific literature, analyze media texts of various genres. 2.3. Have elementary skills of media text creation; knowledge of basic strategies and tactics of creating modern texts for oral and written communication according to needs and tasks.
Course content
The main concepts and categories of new scientific directions - political linguistics and speechwriting in the aspect of linguistic competence of future media linguists - are considered. In particular, attention is focused on analytical work and independent creation of various political media texts in accordance with the most effective communicative strategies and tactics.

Assessment methods and criteria
The final assessment is conducted in the form of a complex exam: 1) maximum number of points on the exam is 40, minimum number of points (positive grade), which are added to the semester ones, is 24 points (60% of the maximum number of points assigned to the exam); 2) exam consists of four blocks of tasks: I block - 2 test tasks with one correct answer II block – 3 test tasks with several correct answers III block – 1 open question IV block – 1 task for creation of the text according to the proposed criteria.
