Prerequisites and co-requisites
Proficiency in the Italian language at the B1-B2 level, to have the following skills: - written translation from Italian into Ukrainian and from Ukrainian into Italian; editing of translated materials in both Ukrainian and Italian languages.
Course content
The educational discipline involves the continuation of the comprehensive study of the Italian language and is aimed at developing students' practical translation skills when working with text materials such as articles from mass media sites, from encyclopedias and reference books, books of socio-political content. Separate samples of the official business style, short messages, advanced articles, magazine articles of a review-theoretical nature, communiqués, geographical references, historical descriptions, examples of oratory, etc. are considered. The subject of study of the academic discipline is thematic and commonly used vocabulary, grammatical inflections of speech characteristic of the journalistic style. The denotative and connotative components of the content are highlighted, taking into account the pragmatic aspect of the source text and its adaptation by making amendments, during which socio-cultural, psychological and other differences between the original and the translation are taken into account.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Educational activities during the semester: oral answers, blitz surveys; oral translations; written assignments (translations of abstracts); compilation and protection of the translator's thematic file. Teaching methods are interactive, analysis and synthesis, multimedia, structural, creative and heuristic.
Assessment methods and criteria
Final evaluation - credit. The credit is given based on the results of the student's work throughout the entire semester and does not include additional assessment measures. The maximum number of points during the semester is 100 points. Students who scored the minimum positive number of points - 60, receive - "enrolled". Students who did not score the minimum positive number of points - 60, receive - "not counted". In particular, semester evaluation by forms of control: oral answers, blitz survey; interpretation - max. 20 points; written tasks (translations, abstracts) - max. 20 points; compilation and protection of the translator's thematic file - 20 points; modular controls: max. 40 points.
