Learning outcomes
PLO 13. To present knowledge about ethnoculture in accordance with the specialization of the representatives of various professional groups and the students.
PLO 14. To conduct a public discussion and maintain a dialogue on the issues of traditional culture with the specialists and non-specialists.
PLO 15. To communicate freely on professional issues orally and in written form in national and foreign languages, taking into account the purpose of communication and socio-cultural features of its context.
PLO 16. To define, formulate and argue one's own civic and professional position on current social issues.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before studying the discipline the student should:
know the regional specifics of folk culture, the material culture of Ukrainians, the basic concepts of ethnotourism and key information about the centers of folk culture, the national costume, the work of museum funds;
be able to to collect, organize and archive folklore and ethnographic material, identify and distinguish the objects of intangible and material cultural heritage of Ukraine;
have the basic skills of abstracting a scientific text, creating presentations.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to learn the basic foundations of museum communication, to deepen knowledge about the work of the ethnographic museums and open-air museums, to develop the skills in ensuring the work of the museum in the crisis situations (covid-19), to form the skills in the organization and promotion of museum events.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course includes 2 content parts.
The first part is devoted to the study of the theoretical foundations of museum communication, the second one is devoted to the study of the practical experience of the ethnographic museums and open-air museums in Ukraine and all over the world in accordance with today's conditions. The classes are held in the form of the lectures and practical lessons, which are evaluated according to the types of the work and the forms of the control. The discipline ends with a test. The students who scored a total of less than the critical-calculated minimum – 36 points, are not allowed to write the test. The students who have not reached the grade point average during the semester, must complete the missed topics in written form and submit / send them by e-mail.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides two-level assessment of the learned material, assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge) – 40% of the total mark, and assessment of practical training – learning outcomes (skills, communication, autonomy and responsibility) – 60% of the total mark.
Assessment of the semester work: oral answer at the practical lesson – 2/1 points, doing the creative task – 4/1 points, writing two tests – 6/4 points. The general mark for the semester consists of the points obtained for the classroom work, which also synthesizes independent work on studying theoretical material in order to prepare for the classroom work. All the types of the work for the semester have a total of 60/36 points. The discipline ends with an exam in the form of a written test (40/24 points).
