Prerequisites and co-requisites
To succeed, the course requires knowledge of English at the level no low than B2 of CEFR. In addition, students are supposed to know the main stages and characteristics of the historical and cultural process, and the place of ethics within the philosophical sciences; to be able to collect and interpret information on cultural phenomena, processes and events; to identify urgent socio-cultural problems and substantiate the principles and ways of solving them, and to possess the elementary skills of scientific research and information management; critical thinking and prediction regarding political, economic, cultural and artistic events and phenomena; using foreign language professional informative sources.
Course content
The discipline is aimed at the formation of an educated specialist, ethically competent and morally oriented to conscientious, conscious and ethically balanced performance of professional activities. The subject field of applied, professional and corporate ethics, their place in the structure of ethical knowledge, the features of ethical regulation of professional activity, ethical dimensions of professionalism are determined. The mission and structure of the ethical infrastructure as a tool for managing values in professional and corporate activities, models and functions of ethical units and ethical documents, including the ethical code, ethical monitoring and ethical audit as a control of ethical activity, are clarified. The foundations of corporate culture and moral standards of the organization's activities are determined. The foundations of corporate social responsibility are determined. Peculiarities of socio-normative concretizations of morality in a number of social practices in a professional direction are considered. In particular, the foundations of pedagogical ethics, its structure and subject field are defined. Attention is paid to university ethics, the value dynamics of university life in cultural and historical dynamics, and the mission of the university in modern socio-cultural practice. The value principles of scientific activity in socio-cultural activity, the value-normative principles of the scientist's activity, the ethical dimensions of the relationship between ethics and technology, as well as the features of social responsibility in science are clarified.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The modes of the course delivery encompass lectures, seminars and self-study, incl. oral answers, scientific discussions, essays, and written tests. The teaching methods include explanations, illustrations, heuristics and research, which help develop students’ analytical skills and unlock their scientific and creative potential.
Assessment methods and criteria
The form of summative assessment is a pass/fail grade. The pass grade is given if students score 60–100 points for their work throughout the semester, which does not presuppose any additional assessment. The students who score less than 60 points are required to do the missing assignments, which may be assessed through written tests, oral quizzes or individual written tasks. Formative assessment incorporates students’ results for all types of learning activities, incl. self-study.
