Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Knowledge of general linguistic terminology. 2. Knowledge of the basics of modern English grammar. 3. Reading, writing, listening and speaking skills at the level provided by the programme.
Course content
The purpose of the course to deepen and systematize their knowledge of English; to form students' English-language communicative competence as a set of knowledge, skills and abilities that provide effective intercultural communication in oral and written forms.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Learning and teaching activities during the semester: • lectures and practical classes ; • speaking, writing, presentations, listening, home reading; • thematic tests; • tests on theoretical part of the course
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment. Maximum number of points for the semester - 100 points. The number of points depends on the completeness and correctness of the task done by a student. During the semester, assessment is carried out in accordance with the types of work and forms of control described in 7.1 of the programme . The credit is based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester and does not include additional forms of assessment. Students who scored less than 60 points cannot be certified.
