PLO 2. Effectively work with information: select the necessary information from various sources, in particular from specialized literature and electronic databases, critically analyze and interpret it, organize, classify and systematize it. PLO 3. To organize the process of one's education and self-education. PLO 13. Analyze and interpret works of Ukrainian and foreign fiction and oral folk art, determine their specificity and place in the literary process (according to the chosen specialization). PLO 15. To carry out linguistic, literary and special philological analysis of texts of various styles and genres. PLO 22.2. Have the skills to interpret and translate Polish and Lithuanian texts of various styles and genres. PLO 23.2. Apply knowledge from the field of Balto-Slavic linguistic and cultural continuum in the practice of translation. PLO 24.2. Apply methods and strategies established in translation studies for oral and written translation.

Full-time form

Before the course of study students are expected to complete successfully the program’s previous literary disciplines; to demonstrate basic knowledge of literary terms and be competent in applying various methodologies of a literary analysis of text.The student must successfully master the following academic disciplines: "Introduction to Literary Studies", "History of Foreign Literature", "History of Polish Literature" and know: • basic literary concepts; • principles of literary text analysis; • peculiarities of literary genres; • basics of poetics; be able: • apply literary tools in practice; • analyze all levels of an artistic text – thematic, compositional, narrative, poetic. have basic skills • communication on literary topics; • analysis of the artistic text.

the course covers the history of the literary process in Poland in the second half of the 20th century. The student should know the main events in the history of the social, political and cultural life of Poland and Europe in the 20th century; the main trends of the world literary process, in particular within the 20th century and the national specificity of Polish literature in the European context; the most prominent authors, their life path and creative achievements; the texts of the most famous works, their reception and interpretation in the scientific discourse. be able to: connect theoretical knowledge with specific phenomena of fiction and general aesthetic and cultural facts; use modern methodology to analyze both individual literary works and phenomena of Polish culture; analyze literary works taking into account the development of general cultural and aesthetic trends of the day; analyze works of art read in the original in the unity of content and form; to identify trends in the development of literary processes in connection with the general cultural concept of the time

The course is delivered with the help of such teaching methods as lectures, seminars, students’ individual work. Forms of tuition include oral reports and group discussions at seminars, individual tasks, PowerPoint presentations.

The form of final control is an exam. The grade is formed as the sum of points gained in the in-process evaluations of academic progress which weigh of up to 100% of the course grade: 60 for oral answers in seminars, for an individual task, and for a PowerPoint presentation. A student who has obtained minimum of 60 points is granted a successful completion of the course. If a student does not attain a minimum grade of 60 points, he/she is required to submit the assignments set for this course. The final evaluation of learning outcomes is carried out on a single 100-point scale.
