Learning outcomes
To develop in students the ability to analyze and summarize historical material, to evaluate the most important events and phenomena of the history of Central and Eastern Europe in the context of world history; teach students to compare historical processes with epochs; develop the ability to find and critically analyze the necessary information from past history; to form skills to apply acquired knowledge in the process of teaching historical disciplines, as well as to forecast social processes.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know the main stages of world history. 2. Be able to work with a complex of ancient sources; conduct independent research within the discipline, structure historical information. 3. To have elementary skills of source criticism, historical analysis, establishment of cause-and-effect relationships between events.
Course content
Acquaintance with the basic sources and historiography of the history of Eastern Europe, combining theoretical knowledge about the periods of European history with specific historical aspects of the study of the progress of the region. Definition and characteristics of the main stages of the development of the Eastern European region, the disclosure of key problems of socio-political and socio-economic processes, the role and place of prominent historical figures. Analysis of the most important events and phenomena in the history of the Central and Eastern Europe in the context of world history and culture. The content of the course is divided into 2 content modules. Each content module includes lectures, seminars, independent work of students, which are completed by rating control of the level of assimilation of knowledge of the program material of the corresponding part of the course. Content module 1 (СМ1) includes topics 1-7, content module 2 (СМ2) includes topics 8-15.

Assessment methods and criteria
The control of the student's knowledge is carried out according to the modular rating system. The total number of student points is formed by the semester points received from all topics of two content modules (points received for modular control papers (in the form of tests); points received for completing individual tasks; points received for work in seminar classes, as well as points which are received for the final control work. The results of students' educational activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale. The criteria for evaluating a student's answer are: • complete disclosure of the issue • the logic of presentation • use of basic and additional literature • analytical reasoning, the ability to draw conclusions
