Learning outcomes
To form in students a complete system of knowledge about the main social and political characteristics of modern society, features of the functioning and development of modern political systems, their structural elements, political characteristics of modern Ukrainian society, social and political problems and methods of their regulation. As a result of training, students should not only demonstrate an array of theoretical knowledge, but also use it in their independent studies of social and political processes, being able to provide an unbiased expert assessment of the investigated phenomena and processes.

1. To know the peculiarities of the functioning and development of modern society, politics and power, human interaction with social and political institutions, peculiarities of modern Ukrainian society. 2. To be able to collect and interpret information from the course topics. 3. Possess the skills of scientific research and information management, use of informative sources.
Course content
he discipline is aimed at revealing the peculiarities of sociological and political knowledge about society, models of social order and interactions, basic dimensions and problems of modern society, the logic of its development, socio-cultural and political-cultural characteristics and trends in the development of modern Ukrainian society. When studying the discipline, attention is focused on dimensions of values, identity, inequalities, social solidarity and conflicts, social relations in employment and political systems, history of political thought, issues of power, regimes in politics, political systems of society and the state, civil society, democracy, parties and party systems, elections, world politics. The content of the course is divided into 2 content modules. Each content module includes lectures, seminars, independent work of students, which are completed by rating control of the level of assimilation of knowledge of the program material of the corresponding part of the course.

Assessment methods and criteria
The control of the student's knowledge is carried out according to the modular rating system. The total number of student points is formed by the semester points received from all topics of two content modules (points received for modular control papers (in the form of tests); points received for completing individual tasks; points received for work in seminar classes, as well as points which are received for the final control work. The results of students' educational activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale. The criteria for evaluating a student's answer are: • complete disclosure of the issue • the logic of presentation • use of basic and additional literature • analytical reasoning, the ability to draw conclusions
