Learning outcomes
1.1 Know the basic principles and principles of geographical analysis of social systems and processes.
1.2 Know domestic and foreign concepts of social geography.
2.1 Be able to apply elements of geographical analysis in sociological research.
2.2 Be able to analyze the impact of a complex geographical environment on social systems and explain their idiosyncratic features.
2.3 Be able to use geographical scale as an analytical tool.
2.4 Be able to use methods of cartographic modeling and visualization of sociological data, in particular with the use of specialized software (Maplnfo, Surfer).

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of the disciplines "Sociology of Space", "Sociology of Globalization" and "Methods of Research of Urban Communities".
2. Have basic skills in using GIS.
3. Orient in modern sociological theory.
Course content
I. Social geography as a branch of social sciences.
1 The evolution of social geography, from the first travelers to critical social analysis.
2 Basic categories of geographical analysis (space, territory, place, scale).
3 Geographical analysis and critique of modernist theories of social development.
ІІ. Modern directions of geographical analysis of social systems. Decomposition of space.
4 Ethnocivilizational picture of the world.
5 Class conflict and geographical space.
6 Tender geography.
7 Electoral geography.
8 Geographical place as a complex social system.
9 Unrepresentative geography.
III. Cartographic modeling of social systems.
10 Cartographic models. Principles and methods of construction and reading.
11 Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in Geography and Social Sciences.
12 Creation of the simplest sociological maps.
