To analyze, comment and summarize scientific and analytical texts of culturological format. 5.To collect, organize and analyze information on cultural phenomena, events, historical and cultural processes. 8. To interpret cultural sources (material, printed, visual, artistic) using special literature and certain methods, tо reasonably present conclusions regarding their content. 13. To present knowledge about culture according to the specialization of representatives of various professional groups and students.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before studying this course, students must know the main stages and characteristics of the historical and cultural process in Ukraine and the world; history of Ukrainian literature, history of the Ukrainian and foreign philosophy.
To be able to collect and interpret information about cultural processes and events; to analyze socio-cultural processes, to identify the main trends of intercultural interaction in the context of globalization and intercultural dialogue, to reveal the social impact of literary images; to determine the laws and basic trends in the development of social processes on the basis of fundamental for a particular society in the specific historical dimension of values, ideas and aspirations;
To possess basic skills in scientific research and information management; critical attitude and prediction of political, social and cultural events and phenomena; use and interpretation of cultural, sociological, philosophical sources and literary images.
Course content
Part 1. “History and theory of nationalization”. The concept of “nation” as a defining characteristic of the identification discourse. Basic theories of nations. Cultural and political dimensions of national identity. Strategies for the formation of national identity. Ukrainian national identity. National identity in a global world. Part 2. “Ukrainian literature as a fundamental factor in the formation of national identity”. Polish-Ukrainian literary relations in the XVI-XVII centuries. Ideological direction of the Ukrainian literary process in the ХVІІІ century. Role I. Kotlyarevsky and Kotlyarevschina in the process of thematization of Ukrainian national identity. The image of Ukraine in Ukrainian and Polish romanticism. The phenomenon of national literature. Ideological intentions of national self-determination in Ukrainian literature of the 1920s. Sixties.The problem of national identity in modern Ukrainian literature.

Final assessment in the form of credit: the final number of points in the discipline (maximum of 100 points) is defined as the sum of points for systematic work throughout the semester and record.
The credit assessment takes place in written form. The ticket consists of 2 questions, each of which is assessed on a scale of 10 points, which in general gives 20 points.
