1. to understand the specifics and features of the implementation of cultural ideas, images, and meanings, as well as to critically evaluate the possibilities of their interpretation to solve important problems for a society. 2. to analyze textual and visual sources of information about cultural phenomena and processes; to verify information according to professional objectives. 6. to communicate fluently in official and foreign languages orally and in writing to discuss professional issues, presentation of research results and projects. 7. to evaluate historical achievements and the latest achievements in cultural studies. 9. to organize and manage the activities of cultural institutions and appropriate departments of enterprises and institutions. 10. to have decision making skills in management of cultural institutions or appropriate departments in unforeseen work and / or learning contexts. 11-13

Full-time form

Before starting this course, students should know the history of cultural studies, modern cultural schools, currents and trends, in particular the American anthropological school, modern scientific English-language periodical literature in the field of cultural studies; general foundations of state policy organization; main features of nation-building and state-building; peculiarities of the functioning of the cultural sphere in the era of globalism; foundations of the theory of values. The student must be able to: use the English language (reading and writing) at a level not lower than B2 according to the Common European Competence in Foreign Language (CEFR); collect and interpret information on the phenomena and phenomena of cultural policy, cultural processes and events; to have elementary skills of scientific research and information management, use of foreign language professional information sources.

"Scientific seminar on specialization" belongs to the list of optional disciplines. The discipline is aimed at forming an in-depth understanding of English-language terminology used in modern scientific literature in the field of social and cultural anthropology. The educational discipline introduces students to the corpus of modern English-language cultural terminology, and also forms the skills of its active use and translation into Ukrainian. The discipline introduces students to documents that determine the direction and content of cultural policy development in Ukraine. The seminar is designed to teach students to work with normative and visionary documents, to analyze and critically evaluate texts from the field of state policy, to identify certain patterns and key events in the development of the law-making process in the field of culture, to analyze the role and place of key players and stakeholders in the current situation, the features of globalization and multiculturalism in cultural policy, to form skills in the management of cultural institutions and to manage personnel.

Practical training, self-study

1. Practical classes (oral presentation, participation in discussions): 24/40 points 2. self-study #1: "Preparation based on a coursework of a scientific article in English using vocabulary": 24 / 40 points. All types of work for the semester have as a result: - in the maximum dimension of 80 points - a minimum of 48 points Final control work in written form - 12 / 20 points. The final number of points for the discipline (maximum 100 points) is defined as the sum of points for systematic work during the semester, taking into account the final test. The credit is given based on the results of the student's work throughout the entire semester and does not include additional assessment measures.
