The educational discipline "Fundamentals of information security" is a component of the educational and professional training program for specialists at the educational and qualification level "bachelor" in the field of knowledge 12 "Information technologies" specialty 126 "Information systems and technologies" of the educational program "Software technologies of the Internet of things". The discipline is included in the compulsory educational disciplines.
The history, state and main trends of information security in the world are considered. The personal, corporate, departmental, state, and international levels of information security are analyzed in terms of three aspects: integrity, confidentiality, and availability. Attention is paid to the management of information security, the construction of the structure of units, the determination of requirements for officials and the requirements of international and domestic standards of information security. The main information threats are considered. Legislative, administrative, procedural and software and technical levels of information security are studied. The basics of cryptology: cryptography, cryptanalysis, existing standards and basics of applied cryptographic protocols for information exchange are covered.

Final evaluation in the form of an exam: is 40 module points (40% of the total rating). Examination assessment is conducted in written and oral form. Exam questions cover all topics of the semester course of the discipline.
The applicant is not admitted to the exam if he scored less than 36 points during the semester. For applicants who scored a total of fewer points than the critical-calculated minimum (36 points), for admission to the exam, it is mandatory to retake the tests, perform and defend the planned laboratory work for a positive evaluation
The grade for the exam cannot be less than 24 points to receive a positive grade for the discipline.
The final grade is determined by summing the points of the semester work and the exam. If, in the end, the student scored less than 60 points, he is given an "unsatisfactory" grade.
