Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Have knowledge of the general principles of functioning of living organisms at different levels of the organization. 2. Be able to theoretically justify the need to maintain homeostasis as the basis for the existence of living things. 3. Know the macro- and microstructural organization of the nervous system of humans and animals. 4. Have the skills of practical work in a scientific laboratory, be able to process and present the results of experiments and surveys
Course content
The basis of the discipline "Physiology of Behavior" is the consideration of neurophysiological mechanisms for the implementation of congenital and acquired human and animal behavior. In particular, the neurophysiological mechanisms of needs formation are covered in detail; motivation, emotions, learning and memory as the basis for any purposeful behavioral response of humans and animals. The regularity of the origin of language, self-consciousness and consciousness as a special mechanism for regulating human behavior in the social environment is substantiated. Issues of behavioral reactions in normal and in conditions of brain dysfunction are considered.
