Course content
"Antitumor immunity" is an important modern field of immunology, which studies all aspects of the interaction of the tumor with the immune system of the host. One of the main topics of the special course is the study of the biological properties of the tumor, which is a carrier of a number of tumor-specific and tumor-associated antigens and features of recognition of such antigens by the immune system. Extremely important is the array of information on the mechanisms of destruction of tumor cells by all known parts of the immune system: specific and nonspecific, cellular and humoral. A special place is occupied by the topic of molecular mechanisms of tumor influence on the functioning of the immune system. The special course concludes with topics on modern approaches to immunotherapy and immunomonitoring of cancer patients.
