Learning outcomes
1.1 To know the branch specifics of sociological analysis of cultural phenomena 1.2 To know the systemic relationship between culture and society 1.3 To know the basic sociological concepts and theories of culture 2.1 To be able to apply the conceptual and categorical apparatus of sociology of culture in the study of particular social problems 2.2 To be able to use the theoretical and methodological logic of determining the main trends of cultural change and issues of intercultural interaction. 3.1 Participate in scientific discussions on the basis of reasoned, critical and creative approach

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know the basics of theoretical and empirical research in sociology. 2. To be able to apply for the analysis of knowledge on the theory of social stratification and mobility. 3. To have the skills to work with scientific literature and prepare scientific texts.
Course content
1. Culture as an object for sociological analysis. 2. Basic sociological concepts of culture. 3. Structural elements of culture. 4. Types and forms of cultures. 5. Subcultural dimension of social life. 6. Socio-cultural processes and the problem of coexistence of cultures.

Assessment methods and criteria
1. Control works, LR 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 2.1, 2.2 - 40 points / 24 points. 2. Group and individual work, LR 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 2.1, 2.2, 3.1 - 40 points / 24 points. 3. Individual research task, LR 1.2, 1.3 - 20 points / 12 points. final assessment: credit. For students who scored a total of less than the critical-calculated minimum number of points - 60 points, to pass the test is required to perform an individual research task and tests.
