Learning outcomes
1.1 To know for which problems each of the methods of data analysis is appropriate.
1.2 To know the conditions and limitations of using each of the methods, including the requirement for the data.
2.1 Prepare empirical data in the electronic format required for the method of analysis.
2.2 Use specialized computer programs (software systems) to analyze empirical sociological research data.
2.3 Interpret the results of computer analysis and draw conclusions based on these results.
2.4 Present the results of empirical data analysis in reports, scientific publications, presentations to a professional audience.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Students should be familiar with the basic concepts of probability theory and practical skills of working with a personal computer in a Windows environment.
Course content
1. Measurement of social variables. Level of measurement. Descriptive statistics.
2. Cross-tables. Correlation analysis.
3. Multiple linear regression model.
4. Sampling method in sociological research.
5. Statistical inference. Interval estimation. Test of statistical hypotheses.
6. Cluster analysis.
7. Factor analysis.
8. Logistic regression.
9. Presentation of the results of empirical data analysis.
