Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know: the main and stages of the world educational process and the historical prerequisites for the formation of university education in the world and in Ukraine. Learn how: characterize the features of the influence of world university traditions on the formation of the Ukrainian educational system, understand the essence of historical processes that influenced the development of university education in Ukrainian lands, which has elementary skills in the formation of independent students in the learning process.
Course content
The discipline "Introduction to university studies" involves familiarization with the primary sources of classical education and traditions; elucidation of the features of the formation of Western European university education and development at different historical stages; review of the evolution of the educational process in the Ukrainian lands, the formation and activities of the first universities. Particular attention is paid to the history of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv - from the prerequisites for foundation to the present. It is taught the 2nd semester in the amount of 60 hours. (2 ECTS credits), in particular: lectures - 20 hours, seminars - 8 hours of consultation - 2 hours, self-study - 30 hours. The discipline is completed by credit (test).

Assessment methods and criteria
Control is carried out according to the module-rating system and provides for: the performance of self-study (where students must demonstrate acquired practical skills and highlight the tasks set using the methods outlined by the teacher), and 2 written tests. The final assessment is carried out in the form of an oral-written credit (test).
