Learning outcomes
Know the basic principles of bankruptcy law, legislation governing relations in the field of bankruptcy, the main categories of bankruptcy law, types of subjects and participants in bankruptcy; determine the legal status of the parties and participants in bankruptcy relationship; understand the system of procedures and measures applied to competitive subjects of bankruptcy and the procedure for their application. Propose solutions to resolve problems, taking into account the specifics of the practical situation described in the problem and the application of legal norms to address specific situations that arise in the process of law enforcement.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know the legislation governing insolvency and bankruptcy, legal positions of higher courts on the application of bankruptcy law. Be able to master and consolidate knowledge gained during the lectures by means of independent processing of legislation and special literature sources on relevant topics of the course; use the knowledge acquired from related disciplines; use legal information and analytical resources of the Internet, perform self-study tasks, solve problems. Possess sufficient knowledge and skills to resolve practical issues; provide legal description of the legal problems that arise with regard to bankruptcy.
Course content
The course focuses on general characteristics of national bankruptcy law; the legal nature of bankruptcy relations; methods, system of bankruptcy law; bankruptcy law system; legal status of subjects and participants in bankruptcy relations; concepts, characteristics and types of procedures applicable to the debtor (bankrupt). The course provides students with the knowledge on the application of the legislation of Ukraine in the field of bankruptcy, and related skills, the ability to identify problems of legal regulation, ways to solve them.

Assessment methods and criteria
Types of formative assessment are chosen by the teacher who conducts practical lessons in compliance with the course syllabus. The teacher who conducts seminars processes students’ points scored during coursework and enters them in the student performance evaluation documents. If a student is absent from a seminar for a valid reason, s/he may complete the missed lesson in extracurricular time within 7 days after this lesson was missed, during the teacher's consultation. The procedure is carried out by means of oral questioning or another type of task set by the teacher. Points for missed classes are not awarded. At the end of the semester, missed classes are not completed.
