Learning outcomes
PLO 1. Communicate freely on professional issues with experts and non- experts in Ukrainian and a foreign language, in oral and in written form, use these languages to organize effective cross-cultural communication.
PLO 2. Process information effectively: collect relevant information from a variety of sources, including professional literature and electronic databases, critically analyze and interpret it, organize, classify and systematize it.
PLO 3. Organize own learning and self-education process.
PLO 5. Collaborate with colleagues, representatives of other cultures and religions, supporters of different political views, etc.
PLO 6. Use information and communication technologies to solve complex specialized tasks and issues of professional activity.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before starting this course, students should know the basics
stages and characteristics of the historical and cultural process; the main cultural ones
theories and methods of cultural studies; know the key historical stages
development of foreign and Ukrainian culture.
Course content
The goal of the discipline is to form a holistic student
ideas about culture, peculiarities of the culture-making process, history
Ukrainian and foreign culture. An important component is not only knowledge
features of each cultural and historical era, taking into account social
economic and political processes, facts, main key personalities,
events, works of art, but also understanding patterns and relationships between
components of culture. The ability to analyze the modern is brought up
cultural situation with possible forecasting of the future course
events.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, consultations, independent work.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment:
The overall grade for the semester is formed from two components:
- Evaluation for the completion of the tasks of seminar classes (9 classes* out of 8
points=maximum 72 points).
- Assessment for the performance of creative work (maximum 8 points).
Final control.
Final control - a maximum of 20 points. It is carried out in the form of credit in
in writing (test) in the last week of the semester. A condition for admission to credit
is the student's performance of practical tasks and creative work with a total assessment
at least 40 points.
Students who scored on all successfully completed control forms
less than 60 points, to increase the score to 60 points they get an opportunity
write an additional test and complete homework.
