Learning outcomes
PLO 1. Communicate freely on professional issues with experts and non- experts in Ukrainian and a foreign language, in oral and in written form, use these languages to organize effective cross-cultural communication. PLO 10. Know the rules of standard language and be able to apply them in practice. PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques of oral and written texts of different genres and styles creation in Ukrainian, classical and a foreign language PLO 12. Analyze language units, determine their interaction, and characterize linguistic phenomena and the underlying processes. PLO 20. Know Greek and Latin substratum of the modern academic terminology, possess the knowledge of the metalanguage of the academic description and use it in the situations of professional communication.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know modern methods of historical knowledge; historical terminological and conceptual apparatus; the nature and peculiarities of the historical process in Ukraine. 2. To be able to independently deepen one's knowledge by searching and processing new information using modern technical means; scientifically assess the role of subjective and objective factors in the historical process, events and phenomena. 3. Possess elementary skills of working with historical and historiographical sources.
Course content
The history of Ukraine plays an extremely important role in the system of humanitarian disciplines taught to students of higher educational institutions. In the modern understanding, this subject provides a set of knowledge that becomes a reference point for both the future scientist and the citizen of the state. The information base accumulated during historical development provides an opportunity to generalize, analyze, model, forecast and organize the political, social, economic and cultural life of our state. The course provides the study of theoretical problems, trends, and laws of political, economic, cultural, and social phenomena, and opens wide opportunities for students to master basic practical skills in various fields of educational, scientific, and social problems.
