Learning outcomes
PLO 5. Apply analytical and methodological tools to substantiate proposals and make managerial decisions by various economic agents (individuals, households, enterprises, and public authorities).
PLO 8. Apply appropriate economic-mathematical methods and models to solve economic problems.
PLO 12. Apply the acquired theoretical knowledge to solve practical tasks and meaningfully interpret the obtained results.
PLO 27. Use appropriate software (programming languages, packages) for economic and mathematical research.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
To Know: the basics of higher mathematics, in particular the functions of many variables and methods of their study, the theory of convex sets and convex functions, methods for solving systems of linear equations, the theory of matrices; basics of economic theory and functioning of economic systems.
Possess: skills of abstract thinking, analysis, synthesis; understanding the problems of decision-making for the management of economic systems.
Course content
Module 1. "Economic and mathematical modeling. Methods of Quantitative Analysis of Linear Optimization Models”, which considers the essence of the scientific approach to operations research for managing targeted economic systems and processes, stages of operations research, types of optimization economic and mathematical models, also methods of quantitative analysis of linear programming problems.
Content module 2. "Methods of qualitative analysis of linear economic and mathematical models", which discusses the theoretical foundations of qualitative economic and mathematical analysis of optimization economic and mathematical models, as well as methods of analyzing the sensitivity of optimal solutions to changes in input data.

Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment:
1. Survey and problem solving: LO 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.2, 3.1, 4.1 - 25 points / 15 points;
2. Tests on 1 - 6 topics (tasks): LO 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.2, 3.1, 4.1 - 25 points / 15 points;
3. Tests on 7-11 topics (tasks): LO 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.2, 3.1, 4.1 - 25 points / 15 points.
The final assessment is carried out in the form of a written test, which consists of 25 tests and assessed with a maximum of 25 points (minimum 15 points).
