Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of courses Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Molecular Biology. 2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of bioorganic chemistry and biochemistry of lipids, proteins and carbohydrates, biochemistry of enzymes. 3. Possession of skills in working with devices used in practical biochemistry and molecular biology, calculating concentrations and making solutions.
Course content
The course acquaints the student with the molecular mechanisms of the main signaling cascades of the cell (adenylate cyclase, guanylate cyclase, phosphoinositide), with the peculiarities of intracellular signaling with the participation of reactive oxygen species, gas transmitters (NO, CO and H 2 S), inositol; highlights the role of phosphorylation and dephosphorylation of tyrosine residues in the regulation of protein functions; special attention is paid to the molecular mechanisms of signaling pathways initiated in the cell in response to the appearance of pathogens (signaling involving interferon).
