Learning outcomes
The result of training is the acquisition of knowledge about the specifics of logical research, to improve the logical culture of thinking, awareness of the importance of concepts, problems and methods of formal logic to solve modern scientific and practical problems.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know the basic methods of scientific research. Be able to collect and interpret information to build arguments, build reasoning, draw rational conclusions from available information. Have basic skills in working with professional literature, information management, critical attitude to events and phenomena.
Course content
The discipline acquaints students with the basics of logical knowledge and combines the teaching of traditional (Aristotelian) and modern (symbolic) logic. The subject, methods, main problems and directions of logical research are determined. Important concepts are studied: reasoning, correctness / incorrectness, logical form, logical following, deduction / induction, logical law, logical equivalence, logical doubt, formalization. The essence and possibility of different ways of establishing logical forms of reasoning are explained, the essence of a number of logical techniques of reasoning analysis is revealed. Logical theories are considered: logic of statements, syllogistics, theory of concepts.

Semester assessment: 1. Intermediate written test (remotely) - PH 1.1-1.4 - 40 points / 20 points. 2. Synopsis of topics for self-study, solving exercises (remotely) - PH 1.1-3.2 - 40 points / 20 points 3. Final test - PH 1.1-1.4, 2.1-2.2 - 20 points / 10 points. Final assessment: in the form of a credit
