PR04. Understand the basic terms, concepts, principles, theories and laws in the field of biological sciences and on the boundaries of subject areas. PR05. Use knowledge and demonstrate compliance with the provisions of biological ethics, biological safety and biological protection. PR08. Demonstrate knowledge of fundamental biological processes, structure and functions of living organisms. PR10. To establish regularities of interaction of living organisms of different forms of structural organization with each other, features of influence of various factors on living organisms and to estimate their role in biosphere processes of biotic transformation of substances and energy. PR15. Apply in professional activities methods for determining the structural and functional characteristics of biological systems at different levels of the organization.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of the disciplines "Zoology", "Fundamentals of Ecology and Nature Protection", "Botany", "Biology of Individual Development", "Chemistry", "Physics". 2. Ability to independently apply knowledge of zoology, ecology, botany, biology of individual development, etc. disciplines for solving specific scientific and practical problems; work with scientific and scientific-methodical literature. 3. Possession of basic skills of systems analysis.
Course content
It covers the specifics of habitat of representatives of different taxonomic and ecological groups of living organisms in the aquatic environment, their ability to adapt to changing environmental factors and the formation of associations and groups above the organism level, patterns of aquatic ecosystems in different types of water and the role of aquatic organisms in the formation of bioproductivity and water quality. The discipline is designed to generalize the specifics of habitat and adaptation of living organisms to aquatic habitats and to form an understanding of the complex interactions between aquatic organisms and their groups within the ecosystems of different bodies of water.
