Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of theoretical and practical courses of the Ukrainian language taught during the first and second semesters of the master's program. 2. Ability to use the Ukrainian language fluently, flexibly and effectively in oral and written form, in various genre-style varieties and registers of communication. 3. Knowledge of the linguistic and didactic foundations of teaching Ukrainian as a foreign language.
Course content
The aim of the course is to teach undergraduates methods of forming sociocultural competence in foreign students while learning Ukrainian. The discipline is designed to familiarize master's students with the place of linguistic and country-specific word theory in the modern scientific paradigm and the basics of teaching linguistic and country-specific discipline to a foreign audience. The course focuses on the study of Ukrainian vocabulary with a national and cultural component. The course material provides theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for teaching Ukrainian to foreign students, in particular, it develops the ability to recognize country information in language units of different levels, apply different ways of translating non-equivalent and background vocabulary, and teaches to analyze the text in the linguistic and country studies aspect.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Forms of study - lectures, practical classes, independent work. Teaching methods: problem-based learning, partial search method, independent work with scientific and reference literature, collection of information for linguistic and country analysis, translation, presentation, and project work.
Assessment methods and criteria
