Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of courses in meteorology, climatology, agrometeorology, urban meteorology, physical geography. 2. Knowledge of theoretical foundations of chemistry, physics, physical geography, ability to establish cause and effect relationships between phenomena and processes occurring in the natural environment. 3. Knowledge of methods of synthesis and analysis of information.
Course content
The discipline is devoted to the study of innovative technologies for adaptation of economic sectors to climate change. The course consists of two modules. The first module examines the regional features of climate change in Ukraine and assesses the vulnerability of various sectors of the economy and society to these changes. The scientific and theoretical foundations of adaptation to climate change, terminology, classification of types of adaptation, organizational structure of the subjects of state adaptation policy in Ukraine are considered. The methodology of the action program for the development of adaptation measures, criteria and indicators for assessing adaptation measures, approaches to the development of adaptation measures based on reducing the scale of threats and risks of climate change, reducing vulnerability, and increasing adaptive capacity. The second module considers methodological approaches to the selection of adaptation measures based on the analysis of existing and future climate risks and vulnerability of economic sectors / regions / individual settlements, taking into account current projections of climate indicators for the medium and long term. Existing in the world practice of adaptation approaches, measures and technologies that can be applied for implementation in Ukraine are studied. Students are given the opportunity to get acquainted with the best world technologies of adaptation to climate change in such sectors of the economy as agriculture and food production, water resources, energy, transport, health, tourism, urban environment, forests and landscapes.

Assessment methods and criteria
Control is carried out by a module-rating system. The maximum score is 100 points, 60 of which the student can gain during the semester control and 40 points - on the test. The content module 1 (CM1) includes topics 1-4, the content module 2 (CM2) - topics 5-9.
